Dad’s Take Your Child to School Day
September 28th will be Florida’s “Dad’s take your child to school day.” If dad is unavailable to attend, Grandpas and Uncles are welcomed! "Research into the impact of the father's role in a child's academic development suggests that when fathers are actively involved in their child's education, students perform better academically, have fewer discipline problems and become more responsible adults," wrote Hershel Lyons, chancellor of public schools, in a memo to school superintendents. Hello families!
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! The air is getting cooler, the trees are beginning to shed their leaves, Starbucks began serving pumpkin spiced lattes... it must mean one thing....Fall is coming! Students will take their make-up spelling test on Wednesday, September 7th (testing the words from last week). I will give the spelling pre-test on Thursday, September 8th and that test will be on Friday, September 16th.
